Story of Anthor Kumar Das
I fell in love with bees from an early age. These tiny but mighty pollinators have always fascinated me and that passion has only grown stronger over the years.
My beekeeping journey began in 2014 in Khulna, Bangladesh, where I had the privilege of working closely alongside experienced local beekeepers.
Over the years I gained hands-on experience managing around 300 beehives, learning everything from hive inspection and colony management to honey extraction and bee health. Those years taught me the real practical side of beekeeping that no textbook can fully capture.
In 2023 I moved to Dhaka for work, but beekeeping never left my heart. I now manage my own personal apiary in Chandpur, Bangladesh together with my uncle and cousin. It is a smaller and more personal operation – but every visit to the hives reminds me why I started this journey in the first place.
I have kept and worked with Western honey bees, Italian honey bees, and Himalayan honey bees throughout my beekeeping experience. Each species has its own personality and taught me something different about bee behavior and colony management.
I completed my Bachelor of Science degree (BSc) from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Khulna, Bangladesh. Outside of beekeeping and my professional life I am a fun-loving person who values time with friends and family.
